We also had the opportunity to stop at the American Quarter Horse Museum. There were lots of fun things for the kids to do and explore learning about the Quarter horse as well as lots of plaques of famous horses and horsemen about which we knew nothing.

Some really fancy (and I imagine rather pricey) saddles with details like you cannot imagine. Silver, carvings, amazing craftsmanship. Wow!

And what horse museum would be complete without a buckin' bronco?!?! Baby J wasn't too sure about all this, but she endured and we did NOT put the quarter in the second time *grin*.

Yee-haw, cowboy!!!

Ride em' cowgirl!!!!

Ah, finally...home, sweet home! Okay, it isn't quite this desolate where we live, but the desert IS in fact the desert, and it is HOT and rather brown in the desert.

THIS is the Petrified Forest. We drove through it on the way to Nanny and Grandad's house, so, of course, we had to take the scenic tour (through the barren dessert *grin*)

Almost home and THEN we can get you caught up to what is happening in real time. This was way back in July. Can you imagine what those poor settlers must have thought when they arrived to THIS!?! And crazy enough, some of them actually STOPPED here, and now millions of people live in this desert (well, not HERE in the Petrified Forest, but near here).
