Daddy and K getting ready for a swim.

J enjoyed this slide a BUNCH! I think she rode it at least a gazillion times. (And I thought it was pretty cool too. The best part is that I didn't have my picture made on it, but I did manage to get the dad's *grin*)

Ain't he cute?

And Nanny's picture too. Notice the technique...arms tucked in to the chest, head slightly off the slide, feet crossed. All this to maximize the speed at which one rushes down the slide.

The convention was a wonderful experience. Last year was our first year. I hope to make it an annual event for our family. It was definitely a highlight for us. It is wonderful to be around so many other homeschoolers and to be encouraged by the terrific things that are happening in the homeschooling world. If you are interested or just want to know what is happening with homeschoolers, check out this website.

You can also visit National Home Education Research Institute to find research being done concerning homeschooling.
The convention key note speaker this year was Dr. Voddie Baucham, Jr. I definitely recommend his book Family Driven Faith. You can also listen to his sermons on his website via podcast. Need a challenge? Check your worldview. Do you see things the way the world wishes you to see them or the way God instructs us to see them? This book will help you get started if you don't know whose glasses you are looking through, the world's or God's?
Two other wonderful books I saw at the convention (but purchased at cbd.com) are children's books that will encourage your children to have Godly characteristics -which are mightly helpful when trying to raise up those sweet gifts to become Godly men and women *grin*. They are I'd Be Your Princess and I'd Be Your Hero. Amazing little gems to encourage your little ones.
