Ol' Fashioned Creek Baptism

They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved - you and your household." Acts 16:31
Praise God for families who are teaching their children about the love and grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Below are pictures of family members being baptized in the creek on my parent's farm as an expression of their commitment to God and in recognition of His amazing love and mercy.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age". Matthew 28:19-20
And praise God for those moms and dads who are teaching "them to obey everything I have commanded you".

Cousin R getting baptized.

Peaceful and thankful mama for a son who heard God's word and believed as well as God's mercy and willingness to "wash our sins away". Cousin R and C and my friend. We were actually in elementary school together. We had not had much contact until recently and God brought us back into each others' lives to encourage and uplift one another in our mothering and homeschooling lives. What a blessing they are to our family.
My niece, Elisera, getting baptized. She has lived a pure and righteous life. By the standards of most teenagers, this young lady would be considered a goody two shoe, even a prude. But even with such a pure heart, she is wise enough and has been raised in a family that recognizes that "no one comes to the Father, except through me". (John 14:6) Elisera realizes that Jesus Christ is either "a liar, a lunatic, or LORD." (C.S.Lewis) She has chosen to accept the gift of salvation offered by our LORD and has committed to live, as best she can, and by God's grace a life that will "obey everything I have commanded you". It seems there are many who wish to take the parts of the Bible which sound nice like "believe and you will be saved", but often do not wish to do the more difficult task of "be very careful to keep the law and the commandment that Moses the servant of the Lord gave you: to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to obey His commands, to hold fast to Him and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul". (Joshua 22:5) Praise God that this young lady and her siblings are all striving to do just that. I praise Him for cousins who are a wonderful example of the admonition to "honor your father and mother...that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth". (Ephesians 6:2) And I praise God for a Godly husband who is leading our family in worship of, in loving more, and in commitment to the one true Creator, God!A proud and thankful grandfather. A man who has "impress(ed) (the commandments) on your children. Talk(ed) about them when you sit at home and when you lie down and when you get up." Deuteronomy 6:7 And it works. Praise the Lord!My sweethearts observing and learning. My angels hearing and seeing God's love lived out right in front of them. What an amazing testimony. Thank you again Lord.

Friends, family, and church members who came to the baptism. There were a total of 13 persons who were baptized this day in recognition of God's amazing grace and acceptance of His gift of eternal life. Approximately 170 persons visited the creek that day. They parked in my parents' field and walked to the gazebo. It was a glorious day!
Grandmommy had baby duty! She did a good job!

Great pics Sis, I had the other side of the creek, and yes, it is amazing to "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved," but there is much more to the wonderful Christian life. "Teaching them to observe ALL (ALL)that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age," is the desire to be totally obedient to the One who gives us eternal life. Thank You, Lord for Your faithfulness in our family and in the generations to come. Always Experiencing Him, Jody
