Down on the Farm

The Tubaman is just as comfortable in the corn field as he is on the tuba. (Ok, that may be stretchin' it a bit, but he is purty good as lots of other stuff too) He and K are putting fertilizer in the row in preparation for the corn planters.
Grandmommy and the big kids use the corn planter to start a second section of corn so that it doesn't all need harvested at the same time. The Tubaman and the kids take a turn.

Baby J inspects the bag of fertilizer to make certain they are using the right kind.
"Yup, Poppy, you got the right stuff. Says 6 - 12 - 12 right here".Poppy pulling weeds so THEY can enjoy cantalope and watermelon in July (AFTER we leave....yes, you sense a bit of tone in my voice *grin*).
Water break.

Mama and Baby K helping in our own special way. We offer smiles and moral support.
In the shade tree where we rested, a little martin had made a nest in the gourd Poppy hung there. He came and went as if we didn't bother him too much, and I was able to snap a pic of him checking things out before going in.
A little walk up the road to visit a shut-in cousin/friend of the family.
Miss Louise is a family member in her 80's and boy, does she LOVE to love our babies. I don't know that I have ever met anyone who loves kids/babies more than she does. And you can't go visit without her bringing out "the bowl"...that is the bowl full of chocolates, candies, snacks, you name it. On the way to her house K said,"I love to visit her. She always gives us candy!" And it is true! You can't leave without taking something. I just love the hospitality of those older southerners. So fun!
In about 7 years girls, you can start to submit your applications. Not only is my nephew great with kids, but he also plays the guitar REALLY well, runs a weed eater like nobody's business, and is pretty cute too. (Ok, now that he will never speak to me again, he seriously has a special way with the kiddos and has been loved by lots of kids since we can remember) Love ya, J!!!
I forgot to tell you...we had twins. We just decided to leave one of them (the shiny one) on the farm. Baby J loved taking care of the other baby. hehehehe
J and K went to VBS at my parent's church. The songs they sang on the final night and the following Sunday were lots of fun."Hi Mom!"
Cuz R, this one's for you!Even though it is blurry, I just thought this was too cute! K and Cuz C were singing their little hearts out and we LOVED hearing them proclaim the word of Jesus so clearly.
The Tubaman took his babies to look at a critter in the spring. I thought they were sooooo cute in their matching shirts.
Tubaman, Big K, Baby J, and Big J "walking away happily" (Big K wanted it to say that...he is helping me).How sweet! Big Sissie loving on her little brother.
Great Aunt Margaret came for a visit too!
