J's tree.
K's tree.
Another favorite was our lighting of the advent candles and reading the prophecies that Jesus did fulfill concerning coming to earth as the Messiah. The kids looked forward to those nights when we gathered round to light the candle, do our reading, and say our prayers.
J helped make a birthday cake to celebrate Jesus' birthday. We attempted to make it a purple cake (for royalty), but the purple didn't do so well with the cake mix. It was more of a lilac. And in our hurry to cut the cake and sing, I didn't have time to take any pictures. (We had a grumpy18 month old who was ready to go home for her nap). J thought it was best to sing Angels We Have Heard On High (she loves the Gloria part). It was so fun to see our guests standing around singing together about Jesus' birth.
And we enjoyed sharing some gifts with one another just as Christ became the ultimate gift to mankind. Below are some of the gift giving pictures we were able to capture. Our family's prayer is that your celebrated this birth of Jesus with more excitement and love than previous ones and that next year you will be even closer to Christ and enjoy another amazing time of Christmas celebration.
Baby J enjoys her gift from mom and dad (a wonderful hand-me-down from K). She LOVES sitting up playing with all the farm toys.
K is transformed into Sir Thomas when he puts on the armor of God complete with the shield of Faith, the breastplate of Righteousness, the helmet of Salvation, the sword of the Spirit, and the shoes (or leg plates) of The Gospel of Peace.
J loves on her new horse, Chestnut.
J opens a neat sign language book from mom and dad.
Santa brought some cool paints.
Baby J has a new toothbrush in her stocking.
We don't waste anytime. Let's paint with our new paints and coloring pad.
And Jenga is loads of entertainment for daddy and sweetie.
