What's with this cold white stuff????

We were blessed to go to the north country to be with grandparents for Thanksgiving, and boy do we have much to be thankful for. What an amazing Savior we serve who willingly died for us, gave us the privilege to be sons and daughters of His if we choose, gives us the opportunity to know Him fully through His gift of the Word, and blesses us if we obey. Thank you Almighty God for your love.

And in our world of ungratefulness, we often look past the intention of the founding fathers in declaring this great day of Thankfulness...some even trying to say we are not a Christian nation and were not founded on Christian principles. Here is George Wasington's Thanksgiving Proclamation from 1789.
Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me to “recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness. Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be.—George Washington

So to that great and glorious Being (a.k.a. Almighty God) our family acknowledges and humbly gives thanks for His wonderful blessings. May our lives be testimony to our love for Him.

We are very thankful we could visit with Nanny and Grandad and experience the beauty of snow during our holiday. Just a bit on the ground, but more was falling today, so hopefully there will be a little bit more for the kids to play in tomorrow morn. It was too cold to be out very long (think 28 degrees), but the kids had fun throwing snowballs, getting snow all over them, and getting very, VERY cold!!!

"Well, that took a year to get dressed. Hat, gloves, shoes, coat....Now what!"
