J's Birthday Party

I forgot that I had not put up the party pictures until just now when I was downloading other pictures from the camera. It was a grand time. J's 7th was celebrated at a park with her family and a couple of her friends. Nanny and Grandad made the trek for the event and took her out to Teppanyaki ("the place where they cook in front of you" as the kids call it). What a fun birthday week. Here are a few pictures of the final celebrations at the funny farm.

K does not like the fire. Thankfully he had Grandad there to protect him. He did finally come out of his shell to look at the "onion train".
Meanwhile, baby J is only concerned with her food. She discovered she LOVES the soup served at the restaurant, and no fire was going to stop her from eating it!

We had the party at a park nearby that has a splash park area. However, this particular day was still quite chilly for us desert people who need it to be in the 90's before we go near water. This 70 degree day was just about too much for us. The kids played ball, ate pizza and cake, had pinata fun, and finally I could put off the water time no longer. Below are highlights of the fun had by all.

For some unknown reason we always end up with "pinatas of steal" (said with echoing, booming voice).

And a dad has to come to the rescue to break the thing.
And then the birthday girl can wreak havoc.
Baby J decided the partying was too much to deal with. She just took a little snoozer so she could make it the rest of the day.
I made an angel cake for her birthday because she is an angel straight from our Lord.

They each ran through once, but it was windy and really chilly (for us desert dwellers).

Wanting to get in on the fun, but just too doggone cold.
And the finishing touch to her party week...One of her friends couldn't make it to the party, so we met for lunch a few days after J's birthday. The nice thing is that this friend's birthday is only a week after J's, so we were able to celebrate both girls. The girls are wearing their new "teeth" they won at our lunch date (a Peter Piper Pizza kind of place).
The big girls are 8 days apart in age and their little sissies are 2 months apart. How cutie are they all? And please note the tough guy in the background ready to protect his girls.
