Horse time!

Cowgirl J is doing wonderfully with her horse lessons. Here, she and her teacher, Mr. L.J. untie "her" pony. "Her" mare's name is Roany.

J leads her pony to another place where she can brush and saddle her.
Mr. L. J. teaches her to the appropriate way to tie the lead rope.J uses a curry comb and brush on her pony.

She then puts on the blankets and lifts the saddle as high as she can. Mr. L.J. takes it from there.

Cowgirl J knows lots more about saddling a horse then I do. She is quickly becoming an expert. Here she fastens the saddle all by herself (well, he has to help her get it tight enough).
Roany sometimes nips when she is in a bad mood, so J's teacher always starts the bridle, but he tells cowgirl J about each part and lets her pull it over Roany's ears.
J and her teacher in the arena. They worked on trotting lots today. J is doing amazing (I might be a little biased, but Mr. L.J. says she is doing really well also). She can steer this sometimes stubborn pony around that arena like nobody's business.
And what, pray-tell, do the other members of the clan do while sissy gets to do all the horsey stuff? Well, sometimes they cry from the stroller... Climb up and down the fence...
Pick flowers...
Play on the bleachers...
And look for cool things in the dirt... sometimes K gets a pony ride, but mostly we play and look for neat things to put in pockets so mom can find them in the washer later.
We are all having a fun time, and J is progressing very quickly. Cute story...J told her teacher that she would not be able to take lessons in the summer due to some traveling and that she would miss her mare and him too. He looked at her and said, "I will miss you too, doll." He then looked at me and said, "she kinda grows on ya." He may be a rough and tough cowboy on the outside, but he is a very kind teacher to her and just might be a little soft on the inside! *grin*
J has a way of making that happen to even the toughest cowboys!!!

Check her out on the video.
