Performances

I realize that you may be thinking, "I thought this was an educational sabbatical during which the tuba man is supposed to be performing, teaching, etc." Well, here is some proof that those things are actually occurring. He taught several classes at the cousins home schooling co-op. He had a blast with those young 'uns.

And then there was the concert with the Wind Ensemble at TN Tech. Our tuba man had lots of fun playing with his old band director. We had to eat at Bobby Q's - a local barbecue place. It is easy to know when you are in the south. Sweet tea is GOOD! And hushpuppies are fantabulous! Hush-what you say? Think cornbread rolled in balls and then deep fried. Yummmm! And those farm kids actually clean up pretty well, don't ya think?

Last night was a performance at University of TN Chattanooga. My parents and my sister's family have been chasing the tuba man around to all of these gigs with us so we are having lots of fun even though there have been some really late nights.

The tuba man left today to go to Greensboro, NC. He will be at another university in North Carolina tomorrow and then down to Georgia on Friday. After a quick trip home on Saturday, the whole family will be off to Jacksonville, FL on Sunday for some time on the beach. The tuba man is teaching and showing off the new tuba, but we will be enjoying the beach for a few days.
