Janelle's Baptism

Janelle accepted Christ into her heart this summer. We believe as the Bible says in Romans that "ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." As believers in God's word, He also tells us that JESUS is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Janelle has understood this truth and has asked Jesus into her life as her Lord and Savior this summer just as John 3:16 tells us is possible..."for God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in Him will not die, but live forever." (emphasis mine) Janelle has chosen to believe, and as a result of her belief, has decided to take the next step in her Christian walk with God. She wanted to be baptized as we are instructed in God's word to do. Jesus tells us in Mark 16:16 that "whoever believes and is baptized will be saved". And this baptism is a wonderful picture of what Christ has done in our lives. As we are put in the water it is the same as Christ who was laid in the tomb. And as we are raised from the water, it is the same as Jesus who was raised from the dead in order that we might live. Janelle has now died to self and is raised to live a new life in Jesus Christ. May her parents, friends, and family encourage her along this walk as she encounters choices. May we all pray for her that her choices would resound with her love and devotion to Christ so that her life may be blessed and very, very full.

Several special friends came to help us celebrate this very special time in her life. Miss Christy, Miss Shelly, Sarah, Auntie Janelle, Andy, Trinity, and Melissa all attended the service with us this morning and came to our house to celebrate with pizza and fellowship. We are thankful for our close friends. We wish our family could have been here, but are thankful for computers so they can enjoy such a special time just hours after it happened. God has blessed us so.
